Centella skincare range, 100% organic, toxic and chemical free

Centella is a 100% organic, professional skincare range made with pure plant based active ingredients. Essential oils, herbs, vegetal oils, natural minerals, natural vitamins and proteins provide outstanding results in perfecting the skin's complexion which is suitable for all skin types. Enriched with phytonutrients and natural antioxidants rather than synthetics to achieve the best results.

What is Centella? Centella Asiatica is a natural herb native to Asia, Australia and Madagascar and Africa. It is a potent antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties and skin lightening abilities.

The magic ingredients of this plant are the phytosterols (fats), amino acids (proteins) and polysaccharides (sugars) taken from the stem cells contained through the veins in the leaf of the plant. These stem cells penetrate down through the dermis of the skin giving amazing results to the skin. Stem cells are naturally formed in the epidermis contained in all living organisms constantly fighting against free radical damage.

Stem cells constantly reproduce by cellular division and allow the skin to renew itself. Stem cells decrease with age which shows the importance of choosing a skincare range with stem cell technology to help improve elasticity, hydration and stabilize the hyaluronic acid content protecting the epidermis against external aggression, allowing to brighten pigmentation and even skin tone.

You have the choice of choosing two massage areas excluding the face with all facial treatments. Double cleanse and a tailored double exfoliant is the Centella way! Tailored massage techniques, LED light therapy, the dermophyt’s machine, derma rollers and stones are used where applicable during facial treatments.

Centella is chemical and toxic free, plant based, vegan, cruelty free and eco-friendly.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Organic skincare are products that are made with no harsh chemicals, pesticides, or fertilizers so that the product leaves more room for high quality ingredients that serve the main purpose - to treat the health of your skin.

By choosing beauty products that are 100% organic, toxic free, chemical and preservative free, we are taking care of our skin as well as the inside of our body, making us feel better in own skin, which is what beauty is all about.

In recent years we have become more demanding for organic natural products. From food to make-up, health consciousness is a massive trend in today’s society. Just like we nourish our body with healthy and organic food, we are becoming more aware that our skin deserves to be nourished with the same care. Here are some of the reasons why using organic beauty products is better for our health than using mainstream beauty products.

  • Ingredients - organic beauty products contain ingredients taken from non-genetically modified plants, and are extracted and processed naturally.
  • Sensitive Skin - if you experience sensitive skin you can hugely benefit from organic beauty products that contain high quality ingredients that won't aggravate the skin.
  • What we put in and on our bodies is just as important as what we put into our bodies. If we are not willing to put harmful toxins into our body why should we put them on our skin when they are going to be absorbed into our bloodstream?
  • Results - organic skincare products are made with pure, natural and superior ingredients which cleanse, tone, exfoliate and moisturize the skin, resulting in better overall results than mainstream beauty products.
  • Availability - organic beauty products are becoming more widely available to the consumer.

Yes, organic skincare products are natural because they:

  • Will have between 95-100% chemical free ingredients
  • Contain ingredients that come from plants and minerals found in nature
  • Do not contain genetically modified ingredients or GMOs
  • Do not contain harsh toxins, parabens, sulfates or other harmful substances
  • They are never tested on animals and are cruelty free
  • Products are prepared in a way to retain the natural benefits of the ingredients

Being 20+ years in the beauty industry, I have found, tried and tested a lot of skincare products, and yes, 100% plant based, toxic and chemical free skincare products are the best choice and deliver the best results to your skin and your inner health.

The best advice I can give you is to look for the benchmark stamps on products such as 'Eco Cert' or 'Bio'. This tells you that there is a minimum of 95% of natural ingredients in the product. You are on the right track then. It is important to have no toxicity in a product so 100% toxic and chemical free is what your product needs to be.

The product ranges we use in the salon are 100% organic so they are free of any harmful ingredients.

Be careful as sometimes companies try to fool you with clever marketing tricks. Always look for the stamp mark so you know the product is of the highest quality.

Organic skincare products contain ingredients that are gentler and less harsh on your skin as the ingredients that are used are made without harsh chemicals, pesticides, or fertilizers so that the product has more room for nourishing, top quality ingredients to help your skin.

This really depends on what your overall expectations are and the severity of the problem. All of our clients notice a difference to their skin before and after all treatments.

So, if you are getting a sugaring treatment, you will notice a massive result on how smoother, softer and clearer your skin looks. Particularly after the lactic peel with the facials you will notice a big difference to the extra glow to your skin and how much more of an even skin tone there is. Bags and dark circles are also greatly reduced.

As the nutritional ingredients in the products are of clinical dosages, you will notice a difference quicker than with conventional products.

We can best advise you on the initial consultation.

Yes, natural and organic skincare products are safe to use, providing the product is close to if not 100% natural - made of pure, clean and natural ingredients.

If you have sensitive skin or skin conditions, it would be better to consult an expert regarding the best choice of the skincare products suitable for you.

Stem cells have the power to repair and regenerate tissue damage helping to restore skin to a more youthful stage. Centella Asiatica stem cells:

  • Boost the natural functions of the stem cells in our skin
  • The rich antioxidants fight free radical damage
  • Improve hydration and elasticity
  • Protecting the epidermis against external aggressions
  • Brightening pigmentation and even skin tone

Stem cells reproduce by cellular division. As we age, the stem cells in the epidermal layer in our skin decrease and the efficiency weakens, leading to early signs of ageing. Plant stem cells present the greatest benefit for skin rejuvenation and restorative properties.

The Centella Prestige skincare line (Anti-ageing line) uses up to 50% Centella Asiatica in the product range so I am rest assured my clients will benefit from using the products in order to achieve the healthiest skin possible.

After years working in the beauty industry, researching the skincare brands and their products, designing personalised and unique skincare treatments for my clients, I would list Centella, Lucim and HydraFlore skincare treatments as my three favourites.

Sugaring treatments are very effective for skin conditions such as eczema because all the pre and post treatment products are natural, and sugar itself is a natural product, too. It is so important to give your skin what it needs to stay in optimum health.

Products that are full of nourishing oils such as hazelnut, apricot kernel, avocado, jojoba to list a few, Aloe Vera and Shea butter are used in a lot of our skincare and sugaring products along with antioxidants, herbs, vitamins, lipids and proteins to add a potent level of ingredients working in synergy to treat the driest, most problematic skin types.

Always book in for a consultation so you know what is involved in the treatments and we get to answer any questions you might have.

If you have extremely sensitive skin, I recommend to book in for White Willow Signature Facial. All our facials come with a consultation so you know exactly what we will use and why you will feel and see the difference to your skin after. When you choose to use more organic natural products they will be kinder and more gentle on your skin as they are free from any harsh, nasty chemicals, preservatives and additives. So definitely you are on the right track.

Glowing skin comes from working on your body from the inside out. It's based on your daily nutrition intake of phytonutrients, antioxidants, and a higher intake of plant based foods, exercise and nutritional drinks to provide your body with the best quality ingredients (Check out Elite nutritious blend from our online shop).

Topically, we need to work on the epidermal layer of skin through plant based nutritional high quality ingredients free of chemicals or harsh substances. Your skin will always respond better to 100% natural products as it is all about improving the health of your skin and body through plant based nutrition.

Holistic nutrition is very important when it comes to skincare, as we first need to nourish our bodies within - through nutrition in our food, and topically - though nutrition in our skincare products, to get the best results.

We incorporate holistic nutrition element and advice on improving your diet in our skincare treatments to address various skin concerns: anti-ageing and hormonal health, acne, dermatitis, rosacea and eczema, just to name a few. This allows you to adjust your diet and eating plan in order to give your body what it needs to improve your skin and overall health.

Reading the ingredient labels on your skincare products is very important. Here are the 8 harmful ingredients you should always avoid:

  1. Artificial perfumes and fragrances - these are always a red flag as they are made of various ingredients that are not always listed on the label so you can never be sure what they contain and what you will be exposed to.
  2. PEGs - these petroleum based compounds are often used in skincare products as thickeners, solvents,  and softeners. PEGs are also used as cosmetic cream bases enhancing absorption of ingredients into the skin, including the harmful ones.
  3. Parabens - a group of synthetic chemicals used as artificial preservatives in skincare products to increase the shelf life of the product. They are added to prevent and reduce the growth of bacteria and mold but may contribute to hormone imbalance and other health issues.
  4. SLS (Sodium lauryl sulfate) - chemical compound that is added to skin and body care products to make them foam, lather and bubble. SLS damage and severely affects the top layer of the skin causing dryness, irritation, etc, and is particularly harmful for sensitive skin and people with skin conditions such as rosacea or psoriasis.
  5. Glycols - are colorless and odorless thick liquids added to a wide range of skincare products. It can cause allergic reactions, irritation, dermatitis and rash, especially if you have sensitive skin or skin conditions like eczema.
  6. Formaldehyde - is a colourless gas with distinctive smell that rather quickly breaks down in the air and easily dissolves in the water. It is widely used in beauty industry, e.g., nail hardening products. Formaldehyde-releasing ingredients are used as preservatives in skin and body care products, to prevent the growth of bacteria and to extend the shelf life of the products.
  7. Phthalates - a group of chemicals linked to endocrine disruption, developmental and reproductive toxicity and cancer. Use of these chemicals in cosmetics have been banned in the European Union. They are used in wide range of skin and body care products - cosmetics, lotions, shower gels, shampoos, nail polish, etc. On the label they could be marked as phthalate, DEP, DBP, DEHP and fragrance.
  8. Triclosan - is a chemical used in many skin and body care products to reduce or prevent bacterial growth and preserve the product. It is widely used in antibacterial soaps, toothpastes and tooth whitening products, deodorants, creams, cosmetics, etc. It has been linked with various skincare issues - contact dermatitis, irritation, rash, and an increase in allergic reactions and might be harmful to the immune and hormone systems.
