BENEFITS OF PURE ESSENTIAL OILS IN SKINCARE

Many organic skincare products contain essential oils as their healing, skin supporting properties and overall benefits have powerful and very effective impact on your skin health.

Pure oils of natural, organic origin will not only add a beautiful scent to the beauty product but will also deliver extraordinary benefits to your skin. I would always encourage people to look for the benchmark stamp Ecocert, Biocert or BIO/Cosmebio on the products which guarantees that they contain a minimum of 95% of organic ingredients and complies with strict rules and regulations. Educating yourself on what is good for your skin and your body is essential.

Lets look at some essential oils that can be found in Centella and Hydraflore product range and deliver excellent results for your skin:

Rosemary

ROSEMARY ESSENTIAL OIL

Benefits for your skin

Rosemary essential oil is fast acting ingredient, rich in antioxidants and has strong antiseptic and anti-inflammation properties. It helps to heal and stimulate the skin, improves circulation and also works as an aid to detoxify your skin, giving you refreshed and radiant complexion.

Benefits for your health

As mentioned above, rosemary has strong anti-inflammatory properties, it contains small amounts of vitamin A, C and B6, and is a source of minerals, calcium, iron and magnesium. Rosemary improves digestion, enhances memory and concentration, and the antioxidants in it help to kill free radicals.

THYME ESSENTIAL OIL

Benefits for your skin

Thyme essential oil has strong antibacterial and antiseptic properties. It is imperative for skincare as it is very healing, and helps to cleanse and detoxify your skin, especially if you have acne or similar skin concerns. Thyme essential oil is also very soothing and will work great if you suffer from rosacea, irritation, blemishes or inflammation.

Benefits for your health

Thyme is rich in vitamin C and A to boost your immunity. It also contains copper, fibre and iron. Thyme helps to fight respiratory infections and acts as a natural antiseptic. TIP: If you feel a cold coming on you, put a teaspoon of thyme in boiling water, leave it for 10 min, then strain and drink.

Knowing all these benefits of herbal essential oils, can you imagine using these herbs also in your diet at the same time - the results would be amazing.

If you have even a small space - a windowsill or balcony, small back garden - try to grow these herbs yourself and add them to your meals. They will not only add amazing taste to your food but will also work miracles from inside your body.

Both herbs are easy to grow and you can get plants from your local garden centre or grow them from seeds.

The best time to plant them would be any time starting from early April up to the start of the summer. Thyme grows small, round and low to the ground. Rosemary can grow to a full-size hedge, if you allow it.

TIP: Allow the rosemary to dry out and hang it - that way it becomes more pungent when cooking and the flavour is better. You can also make tea from both herbs separately.
