DIY | ORGANIC OATMEAL AND MAPLE SYRUP FACE SCRUB

Treat yourself and try something completely natural and good for your skin, like this simple homemade face scrub that you can make at home in a few minutes. This 2 ingredient exfoliator is simple but really effective, and will gently exfoliate your skin making it smoother and softer. It is also very good if you have dry and/or acne prone skin.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp organic oatmeal
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (for non-vegan version you can use honey)
  • a few drops of lemon juice (optional)

Grind oatmeal in a small bowl, add maple syrup and a few drops of lemon juice and mix it all together in a smooth, paste-like mixture. Apply mixture to your face with fingertips and massage gently for 1-2min, then let it on for 4-5min and rinse it off with warm water.

Oatmeal is packed with antioxidants and compounds that are known as natural cleansers, it helps to treat and moisturise dry skin, removes dead skin cells and provides relief from itching, rashes and other minor skin irritations. Maple syrup has antioxidant properties and can help fight wrinkles, dryness, redness, and inflammation. Lemon juice has antibacterial and antifungal properties, and it is a well-known natural remedy used for soothing spots and it can also help to lighten dark spots.
